Reference
The specification family states what a conforming implementation must do. Section numbers are stable across the family. The section directory in §0.0 of the core specification names the document that holds each section.
- Git Event Store Specification (GES) — the core standard. A conforming implementation satisfies every MUST in §16.
- GES — Review & EARS Requirements — the companion: a gap and edge-case review, the core obligations as requirements in the Easy Approach to Requirements Syntax (EARS), and the traceability matrix for the whole family.
Optional extensions
Section titled “Optional extensions”An implementation claims each extension individually. Each extension carries its normative text and its own EARS requirements annex.
- Code linkage and agent session capture — §3.4
- Emmett binding — §10.1–§10.3
- Read models, projections, and searchability — §16b, §16c
- Stream export (JSONL interchange) — §16d
